Brief
Using designs created for the client by Make Studio, I was asked to build the site exactly to illustrations whilst designing UX interactions and incorporating a fully featured content management system.
Solution
Using WordPress as a CMS solution the site is built in HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery. After consulting with the client to slightly adapt the designs, I developed an AJAX driven solution to bring the work section inline with a “slide down” effect as opposed to moving the browser to a new page. The site works entirely within a normal maintainable WordPress build, with no adaptations beyond the scope of plugins written for the project.
Result
The site matches the designs drawn for the client almost exactly in all major browsers. The JavaScript UX elements are smooth, intuitive and graceful and perfectly suit the site in being modern and high-end but remaining classy and not tacky. The design has remained uncluttered and user-inputted CMS data displays beautifully.
