Website & Social: Adventure Dolphin

Brief

Adventure Dolphin had a brochure-based website that was starting to look like it needed a bit of sprucing up. The old site was very static and failed to portray the active and lively community that Adventure Dolphin is, nor could it be edited in-house by staff team members.

Adventure Dolphin wanted a site that they would be able to manage themselves whilst allowing their community to contribute content: photos, videos, blogs and comments. They wanted users to be able to interact, but in a safe and secure way where only members could post content and comment, and staff would have the ability to moderate and control any content unsuitable for the web.

Solution

Using Dave I developed a dynamic solution that encompasses the three fundamental parts of Adventure Dolphin’s operation: clubs, courses and trips. Running through each of these sections are activities, the sports and outdoor pursuits Adventure Dolphin is involved in teaching, and the locations that Adventure Dolphin operates in.

Site administrators are able to moderate every section of the site, from users registering to join to photos uploaded in to the gallery; all from an easy-to-use management interface. Site keymasters can allow different levels of user access to different sections of the site - so administrators can access user information that activity staff don’t need to download.

Result

The site is dynamic and social, engaging to users and much easier to edit and manage for Adventure Dolphin staff. No technical knowledge is required by any user in order to operate the site, however users are able to carry out a vast range of operations. The site is secure and safe, with strict security controls and high levels of industry best practice encryption.
