How we work together
Handmade
None of my solutions come straight out of a box. It's really rare that third party software - such as WordPress or Joomla - will meet your needs entirely. It's likely that they'll be too complex, or the end result will just be a bit naff.
To make sure everything I do looks great, I make most of it by hand. Sure, I use code libraries and frameworks like jQuery, but all the templates, markup and interactions that you'll encounter are written by me.
By making everything by hand you can be sure that your solution will be just perfect. It'll be capable of everything you need and nothing more, but fully extendable as your website grows with your organisation in the future.
Aftercare
If you're in need of a web guy now, you're probably going to need one down the line too. Because all my sites are handmade by me and your website is important to you, I offer free aftercare and technical support.
On the off chance that something goes wrong, I'll be around to fix it. If you need help with something not directly related to the website - like setting up your iPhone to receive email - I'll be pleased to help.
Unlike many other designers I see aftercare as something that should always be available. It'll help you get the most out of your website and, with any luck, make you more successful.
Step by step
One Start off by sending me an email about your project!
Two After a no-obligation meeting to discuss your project I'll provide a quote and contract.
Three If you accept the contract and any revisions we decide to make together, I'll create a mock-up of the design and send it to you.
Four Whilst you review the design, suggesting any alterations, I'll work on the markup and code for the site.
Five Design and code come together, and I add the finishing touches to the project.
Payment is normally made in two instalments: one after step three and the remainder after step five.
